Hair transplant therapy can restore thinning or balding areas of the scalp and give you back a fuller head of hair. It can also restore eyebrows, mustaches and beards and enhance the appearance of scars and burns on the scalp. This treatment is appropriate for both men and women with male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness, and for those with hair loss due to scarring from injuries, surgery, burns or other causes.부산서면모발이식
During a hair transplant procedure, healthy hair growth from the back and sides of your scalp is used to fill in areas that are balding or have little to no hair. The hair from these areas, called the donor area, is genetically programmed to grow for life and will continue to grow when it’s transplanted to a new location on your scalp (called the recipient area). The transplanted hair will blend in with the native growing hair and become part of your permanent head of hair.
Before the surgery, your dermatologist will numb the area to be treated with local anesthesia. They may use a surgical knife to cut a strip of skin with healthy hairs from the back of your head, which they will then separate into individual follicles using a magnifying lens and sharp surgical knife. The surgeon will then transplant these follicles to the balding or thin areas of your scalp.
Once the follicles have been moved to their new location, your dermatologist will either suture or staple them in place. The follicles will heal to leave slight scarring at the donor sites, which will eventually be camouflaged by your growing hair.
After a few months, your grafts will begin to grow and multiply. Your physician will evaluate how many follicles are “taking” and recommend the right course of treatment for you, including whether you need additional procedures or another type of hair restoration therapy.
There are a few complications that can arise from a hair transplant. Most are minor and resolve on their own. The most common is shock loss, which occurs when the transplanted follicles suddenly stop growing. This typically resolves within three to four months. Another potential complication is telogen effluvium, which is a diffuse inflammatory response that can affect all follicles in the recipient site. This is less common and typically resolves in about 1% of patients.
Traditionally, most people receive hair transplants in a series of sessions, each spaced 3-6 months apart. However, recently, there has been a trend to perform larger numbers of grafts in one session. This method, which is often referred to as mega-sessions, allows the patient to reduce their number of visits and achieve a more natural-looking hairline and overall result in a shorter amount of time. However, there is a risk that some of the transplanted follicles will not take and die in their new locations, which may require a touch-up procedure later on. To minimize this risk, the ASPS recommends you work with an experienced hair restoration surgeon.청담모바로의원
